Celebrating Ukraine’s Independence Day in Washington, D.C.

Join us for a RALLY and the UNFOLDING of a GIANT UKRAINIAN FLAG (10 m × 14 m), followed by a march with the flag and a concert featuring Ukrainian music, poetry, and dance, as we come together to honor and celebrate Ukraine’s Independence, Liberty, Heritage, and Culture! 🇺🇦

August 24, Ukraine’s Independence Day, will also mark 4.5 years since the start of russia’s full-scale genocidal war against Ukraine, launched by the russian federation on February 24, 2022. During the event, we will honor the countless Ukrainian heroes and victims of russia’s 12-year-long invasion of Ukraine.

This family-friendly event welcomes everyone, Ukrainians and non-Ukrainians alike.

Safety is our top priority. In case of lightning risk, the event will be rescheduled for the following day (Sunday, August 23), or the next weekend. All changes will be announced in this Facebook Event and on the USUA Facebook Page.

This year, we will celebrate Ukraine’s Independence Day at the Lincoln Memorial because the White House area, where we held the official part of our event during the last four years is currently fenced off with no announced reopening timeline.
In previous years, we marched with our large Ukrainian flag from the White House to the Taras Shevchenko Memorial. This year, we are going to march from the Lincoln Memorial around the Washington Monument and back to the Lincoln Memorial, where the event will conclude with a concert.

Please check our Eventbrite or Facebook event pages for any event UPDATES before August 22.
