Visit the DC News Now web page for their report on the Sunflower Planting Event:
Nadiya Shaporynska, President of US Ukrainian Activists (USUA), opened the event:
“The sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine and a powerful symbol of our fight for freedom, independence, and victory.
Despite russia’s repeated genocidal attempts to erase Ukraine, Ukrainians will never stop defending their right to life and liberty.
This year, we proudly continue our tradition of planting sunflowers by the russian embassy to remind the russian federation that Ukraine will fight for its freedom and independence until every inch of its territory is liberated.
Ukraine will win!”
