Thank you for helping us make this celebration of Ukraine’s Independence, Liberty, Heritage, and Culture possible!
On Saturday, August 22, for the fifth year in a row, US Ukrainian Activists (USUA) is bringing together friends and supporters of Ukraine, the Ukrainian diaspora and the Ukrainian-American community, representatives of the diplomatic community, and partner organizations to celebrate Ukraine’s Independence Day in Washington, D.C.
This meaningful event tradition was founded in 2022 by Nadiya Shaporynska, President of US Ukrainian Activists (USUA), and has been produced and organized annually by her and USUA ever since.

Our Tradition and This Year’s Update
This year, we will celebrate Ukraine’s Independence Day at the Lincoln Memorial because the White House area, where we held the official part of our event during the last four years is currently fenced off with no announced reopening timeline.
In previous years, we marched with our large Ukrainian flag from the White House to the Taras Shevchenko Memorial. This year, we will march with our giant Ukrainian flag from the Lincoln Memorial and back, followed by a concert of Ukrainian music and dance at the Lincoln Memorial.
Please check our Eventbrite or Facebook event pages for any event UPDATES before August 22.
