D.C. Celebrates Ukraine's Independence Day! Dear Friends of Ukraine, please join us on Saturday, August 24, as Washington, D.C. celebrates Ukraine's Independence Day, a tradition launched by US Ukrainian Activists (USUA) in August 2022. WHEN and WHERE: August 24, 2024 (Saturday): 5:00 p.m.: Assembly in front of the White House (North side). 5:30–6:30 p.m.: Official program featuring speakers and Ukrainian songs interlude. 6:45–7:15 p.m.: March from the White House to the Taras Shevchenko Memorial. 7:15 p.m. - 8 p.m.: Concert at Taras Shevchenko Memorial.
