US Ukrainian Activists (USUA) proudly presents a Charity Concert featuring the incredible Soprano Alina Cherkasova and the acclaimed Pianist Sasha Beresovsky—in support of Ukrainian children whose lives have been deeply impacted by the ongoing war.

 The concert will offer a soul-stirring program of classical, sacred, and traditional Ukrainian music—interwoven with stories of resilience and hope. Through music, we aim to bring comfort, connection, and a strong message of solidarity with the youngest victims of war.

About Alina Cherkasova

Alina Cherkasova is a Ukrainian-American soprano and award-winning voice and piano instructor, currently teaching at the International School of Music. Based in the DMV area and proud to be a military spouse, Alina brings not only exceptional artistry but also heartfelt advocacy to every performance.

A laureate of numerous international vocal competitions across the U.S., Ukraine, Italy, Spain, France, Austria, Canada, and the U.K., Alina has earned top prizes for her vocal excellence. She is also a recipient of the prestigious World Cultural Diplomacy Award and the Best Creative People in Ukraine Award.

Her powerful voice has graced world-renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Paris Philharmonic, Odessa Opera House, Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, and Teatro Elfo Puccini in Milan. Alina’s operatic repertoire includes leading roles in Eugene Onegin, Turandot, Le nozze di Figaro, Pagliacci, and Carmen.

In addition to her artistic work, Alina is deeply committed to humanitarian causes. She has organized and performed in over 150 charitable events supporting vulnerable children, elder care, Ukrainian relief efforts, and U.S. military families. As a certified Guardian ad Litem volunteer in North Carolina, she also advocates for children in crisis through mentorship and music.

About Sasha Beresovsky

Sasha Beresovsky is a graduate of New York University and Indiana University, studying most recently with Jeffrey Swann. He has appeared regularly at The Lyceum in Old Town Alexandria as part of the Summer Chamber Music Series of WMPA, presenting Beethoven’s Diabelli Variations in 2015. Other performances have included solo recitals at the Victor Kosenko and Mikhail Bulgakov museums in Kyiv, the Rhodes Scholar House in Oxford, UK, the Arts Barn in Surry, ME, and Beethoven’s Fourth Concerto with the Belmont Festival Orchestra.

Since 2014, Sasha Beresovsky has devoted his extraordinary talent to Ukraine, performing countless charity concerts to uplift, inspire, and support his homeland in its time of need.
